Hardwood Installer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hardwood Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of various types of pre-finished and unfinished hardwoods. Ensuring high-quality workmanship and client satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in diverse environments, including residential new construction & existing homes.
Responsibilities:
- Install a variety of wood flooring with cleat, glue-assist, and full spread methods.
- Properly removing existing flooring with no damage to surroundings.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, patching, leveling, and repairing as needed for proper installation.
- A clear understanding of how moisture relates to wood.
- Communication as needed with sales associates, project managers, and operation managers.
- Cut in and install multiply underlayment with proper nailing schedule and joint prep.
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific areas accurately.
- Ensure proper alignment and secure installation of flooring materials.
- Installation of vents, baseboards, shoemold and transitions.
- Proper lace-in and board repair.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site tasks to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
Experience:
- Proven experience in flooring installation with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics related to flooring layouts.
- Familiarity with hand tools, miter/table/ track saws, grinders, & sanders needed for flooring installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques to ensure longevity of installations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality work consistently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- A commitment to safety practices on the job site.
Additional experience needed for advanced positions:
- Advanced prep skills including subfloor analysis, moisture mitigation, self-leveling, tiering plywood underlayments, screeding, borders, herringbone & parquet patterns, & stairs.
- 5+ years installation experience.
- Being able to lead and teach others.
